As the trade and travel between the two countries increases over the past years Myanmar and Thai has agreed to opened the crossing borders for convenience of crossing the border
Starting August 28, 2013 Myanmar will opened 6 borders to enter the country,
- 3 provinces to accommodate travel by airlines Yangon, Mandalay and Naypyidaw,
- 2 crossing Thai borders Myawaddy - Mae Sod, Tak and Tachilek - Mae Sai, Chiang Rai
- 1 at Koh Song (Ranong port) Ranong
Passport holder can enter or exit any border
Myanmar passport holder can also enter or exit any border
Currently, visa will be issued at the embassy (Overstay visa in Myanmar will be fine US$3 / day)
In the near future the visa on arrival may be issued at the crossing border or at the port of entry
